Prospecting and decision-makers

When an administrator has set up a prospecting data provider (for example the Nomination connector), the CRM uses it to complete your accounts, find their decision-makers, track job changes and search for new leads. Without a configured provider, none of the following appears.

Every lookup at the provider counts against its daily quota: beyond it, searches are refused until the next day.

Account record

The Decision-makers and signals panel of the account record shows the company's latest business signals (appointments, departures, funding rounds, relocations, hiring, acquisitions). They also appear in the account's timeline. The account must carry a registration number (SIREN or SIRET): fill it in, or use Enrich to bring in the company record field by field, as with the other sources.

See decision-makers lists the decision-makers the provider knows for this company:

  • a decision-maker already in the CRM is flagged (you open their record if you can see it);
  • the others can be created as contacts, one at a time, on your confirmation. The duplicate check applies: if a similar contact exists, creation is held and you can Create anyway.

You need to be able to edit the account to create a contact from this page.

Searching for leads

CRM › Prospecting queries the provider:

  • without a function, the search lists companies (sector, headcount, area); those that are already accounts you can see are flagged;
  • with a function (for example "IT director"), it lists decision-makers.

Tick the decision-makers you want (up to 25 at a time) then Create the selected leads: each lead is assigned to you, with the provider as its source. Give a segment name to also put them into a new static segment, ready for a campaign.

The same person from the provider only ever gives one lead: selecting them again picks up the existing lead. If the provider limits the request rate or the quota is reached, creation stops and tells you how many people were not processed; run it again later. Malformed fields from the provider (email, phone, LinkedIn profile) are simply ignored.

Search results are external data: they never reveal a CRM record you are not allowed to see.

Suggested updates

Every morning, the CRM checks at the provider the contacts created from its data. If it detects a job change or a departure, it suggests it under Prospecting › Suggested updates; nothing changes without your approval:

  • Accept a job change to replace the contact's job title;
  • Accept a departure to end the contact's link to the account's organisation;
  • Reject leaves the record as is; the same information will not be suggested again.

You only see suggestions for contacts you can view; you need to be able to edit the contact to decide.

Personal data

A contact or lead coming from the provider keeps a record of its source and legal basis (B2B legitimate interest). No marketing consent is assumed: it must be collected before any campaign that requires it. A person's data export includes this source and any pending suggested updates. The right to be forgotten erases all of it and leaves only an opt-out marker, with no name or readable identifier: the person is no longer suggested by the provider and cannot be created again from its data.
